“I can’t help but get lost. It’s so easy when they pull me in. You may ask, ‘who pulls me in?”

Under the direction of Ashlyn Bolton, Tampa Bay Taps hits the stage to present an original show — WHAT IF?. Tampa Bay’s premier tap companies Rhythm and Sole and the Youth Tap Crew are joining forces once again with the star-studded Tampa native band NIGHTBREAKERS. In this performance, audience members will jump into the world of imagination.

The Author tells the story of his life through the Dancing Figments in his head. Following the story of The Author and his Dancing Figments you will get to explore the what ifs and new ideas that life’s successes and struggles will bring The Author. TICKETS ARE AVAILABLE NOW!

Tying together tap dance and storytelling the cast will bring fast footwork and moving performance qualities while collaborating with musicians for a full concert spectacle. WHAT IF? will spark your imagination as the Figments dive into the world of creation; taking things like sand, paint, lights and turning them into new rhythmic thoughts and visual experiences.

Under Ashlyn Bolton’s direction, Rhythm & Sole Tap Ensemble’s mission is to pass along tap traditions as they mesmerize audiences with their feet. Past appearances by the Ensemble include performances at Walt Disney World, The Big Apple Tap Festival at the Alvin Ailey Theater, Tap City in New York City, opening for Ruth Eckerd Hall’s Friends of Music concert series (including Chris Daughtry and Counting Crows), featuring in a music video by indie band Infinite Eights, and many others.

The youth tap repertoire includes cutting-edge choreography in everything from classical jazz to musical theater, hip-hop and funk. Through education, performing, presenting tap events, collaborating with other artists, and by investing in talented youth, this Ensemble strives to promote, expand and preserve the American art form of tap dance. Enrollment is by audition only. Rhythm & Sole was founded by Beth Caprio.
